I am fascinated by the sense of movement inherent within the creative process
I strive to capture the fluidity of creation.
Deep within the clay lies creative potential
a body waiting to inhale
a body that is trying to break free,
trying to escape
trying to become itself.
The potential that exists in the moment before becoming
is my obsession.
I want to be carried by this potential
along its path to breaking free
I want to be complicit in its escape
and to witness its becoming.
When I shape clay, I too am moving, revealing something
while my hands grasp moments in its process of becoming
in its process of becoming transformed.
Through the motion of the clay, I too become transformed.
This is my process of becoming.
